Tricia Ellis Hi, just a quick hello to everyone who has either already entered the walk or is thinking about it. I met a lady in Sainsbury's who has never done anything like this before in her life and I just happened to hear her telling one of the staff that she was doing the Illumathon. I was thrilled when I heard the excitement in her voice at the thought of what she will achieve in September. I hope everyone has a good Easter and enjoys their chocolate egg, just think you will be able to walk it off the next day!! Bye for now, Happy Walking, Tricia
Bev Whittaker Reminder You have all let us know on your entry forms your reasons for joining us on the walk but if any ladies have any particular stories relating to why they have decided to walk and raise money for Trinity, we would really love to hear from you. Contact us either by e-mail, telephone or letter, whichever you prefer and it would be great if we could feature you on our site, thanks.
Paula Swift Hi, just a little note to say all you girls out there, come on get your trainers on and join us on this fantastic night. You will really enjoy yourselves and it will be a night to remember!

Karen Smith, Thornton Cleveleys INFO I picked up my walkers pack last night and was very impressed. I am really looking forward to the walk in September and think it will be a fantastic night for all. I am following the training programme given and would recommend it to anyone, especially if you are not a regular walker or for anyone out there who does not do much physical exercise and who thinks "its only a walk, why would I need to training?" 13 miles is a long way to walk in one go! Hope to meet lots of you on the night and good luck with the training.
Brian Hankinson Comment Every Tuesday evening at ST Annes YMCA I am running a Power Walking Group specially aimed at those who enjoy fast brisk walking. The walks are approximately 6.5 to 7 miles in distance and last approx 2 hours price is £1 which includes tea or coffee on completion of the walk. Several ladies that attend each week are training up for this walk and if anyone else wishes to come along they will be most welcome. For further details contact St Annes YMCA 01253 724117.
Bev Whittaker Urgent Appeal A big thank you to all you ladies who have entered our illumathon so far and have been to the Hospice to collect their walker packs. However we still have a large number of packs due to be collected and we are trying to avoid posting the individual packs due to the high costs involved. Remember you can call in to collect your pack at any time, once you have received confirmation from us, from the Fundraising Office here at the Hospice. You can also collect outside office hours, ie evenings or weekends from the main reception here at the Hospice, but please contact us the day before so we can have your pack ready for you. Don't forget you can always ask a friend or family member to collect your pack for you. We are also holding two sessions next week for collection on Wednesday 6th and Thursday 7th August from 5.00 pm to 7.00 pm. Please park on the main visitors' car park and our office is situated in the three storey building adjacent to the car park.
Pat Bohanna Comment Hi to everyone taking part, looking forward to meeting you all. My mum died on the 15th December last year and the support of the nurses allowed my mum to be cared for at home. I was also a volunteer at Brian House a few years ago, this is my first time doing something like this and I am really enjoying the training.
Janet Townsend Comment My lovely mum in law Jean passed away on October 7th last year so I want to do this in her memory and to help trinity for the excellent care they gave her in her last weeks. Good luck to everyone taking part.
Bev Whittaker URGENT APPEAL Ladies we really need your help. We are now surrounded by walker packs which have not yet been collected and we are running out of room here! You can collect the packs any time during the until 5.00 pm each day when our office is open. However you can also collect them at the weekend or in the evening but please telephone us first so I can arrange to leave them at our main reception area which is open 7 days a week. We have posted packs to anyone who does not live locally but the cost of this is £4.20 for each pack so please help us avoid any further postage costs by collecting your pack as soon as possible, thanks.
Anne Park I would like to wish everyone the best of luck for the Ilumathon. I think we will all have a wonderful night. Can't wait! This is a task I have never taken before but once again I hope my daughter Lesley and I can raise as much money for the hospice as possible. Trinity Hospice holds a special place in our families heart.
Jane Craig Hi - Great to see so many women registering for the Illumathon. As requested, thought I would let you know my reasons for doing the walk. My mum sadly died in the Hospice in 1985. I am not sure it had been officially opened at the time. I was only 22 at the time, with 3 teenage sisters. The Hospice certainly helped my dad and my sisters. My mum was only in just over 24 hours but her last hours were very peaceful and calm and the staff were wonderful. I am doing the walk with my daughter who will be 21 at the weekend before and 2 of my sisters. My other sister unfortunately won't be able to do it as she is starting chemotherapy this week after breast cancer, originally diagnosed 7 years ago, returned. Due to having a family history of breast cancer and my sisters carrying the BRCA2 gene all my sisters have had double masectomy and a hysterectomy, the 2 who are doing the walk only had the latter earlier this year. The Hospice does a fantastic job and most people I know will either have had experience o
